Bill Libbon Elementary

Bill Libbon TK–6 Elementary School in Santa Maria, CA is a bright, 59,000 sf campus designed with safety, flexibility, and community engagement at its core. The school’s U-shaped configuration frames a central courtyard, fostering visibility and collaboration, while controlled entry points enhance security . As lead Interior Designer, I developed a vibrant yet durable palette of uplifting colors, materials, and furniture that animate learning nooks, breakout zones, and administrative areas. I collaborated closely with the architect and engineer to create permeable interior facades and sightlines that connect classrooms to outdoor play and gathering spaces. The result is a warm, engaging environment—tailored to students—from custom furnishings to accent walls—that supports diverse learning styles and gives kids a school they truly love.
